Role overview
Join Woolworths New Zealand as a Checkout Operator in Christchurch. This is a customer-facing store role focused on smooth checkout service, accurate payment handling, and friendly support for shoppers. The position sits within a large retail network serving communities across Aotearoa, with a workplace culture built on teamwork, respect, curiosity, openness, and practical problem-solving.
Working roster
The roster for this position is:
- Monday: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Tuesday: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Wednesday: 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Key duties
- Deliver friendly, face-to-face service at the checkout.
- Process cash and EFTPOS transactions accurately.
- Support customers by sharing product and service knowledge when needed.
- Follow store rules for the sale of age-restricted products such as tobacco and alcohol.
- Assist shoppers using self-service checkout systems.
