About Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center
Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health represents the first full-service hospital launch in Washington, DC in over two decades. It integrates clinical care with community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), The George Washington University Hospital, and an Urgent Care Center located in Ward 8. This comprehensive care network is designed to serve all District residents, focusing especially on delivering accessible and high-quality care to communities in Wards 7 and 8.
The hospital features 136 beds with expansion capabilities to 184, a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery units, an ambulatory pavilion for outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and an emergency helipad.
Role Overview
The Clinical Data Analyst plays a critical role in gathering, validating, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating clinical quality, patient safety, infection prevention, regulatory, and operational metrics. This position supports broad quality improvement efforts, accreditation and regulatory compliance, peer review, performance enhancements, and management of outcomes through data-driven decision-making.
As a resource to clinical teams, medical staff, and hospital leadership, the analyst develops dashboards, reports, scorecards, and analyses to identify opportunities that enhance patient safety, outcomes, operational efficiency, and meet regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, validate, analyze, and disseminate clinical, financial, quality, patient safety, infection prevention, and operational performance data.
- Maintain and manage databases and registries essential for quality improvement, regulatory reporting, accreditation, and benchmarking.
- Conduct statistical and trend analyses to detect improvement opportunities.
- Support initiatives aimed at hospital-wide quality and patient safety enhancements.
- Analyze performance indicators and suggest process improvements.
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary performance improvement teams.
- Assist departments in the formulation and implementation of action plans based on data insights.
- Track and evaluate progress towards institutional quality objectives.
- Provide analytic support for CMS, Joint Commission, Leapfrog, and other quality programs.
- Contribute to the development and assessment of clinical pathways, order sets, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Epidemiology, Data Analytics, Health Sciences, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience in healthcare data analytics, quality improvement, clinical outcomes, infection prevention, registry abstraction, or performance improvement.
- Familiarity with hospital quality metrics, accreditation standards, and regulatory reporting is desirable.
- Experience with chart abstraction, clinical registries, and healthcare databases is preferred.
