About the Role

Irvine Company Apartment Communities is expanding and seeks a dynamic Community Manager to oversee all operational aspects of our apartment communities. This role involves leadership and development of onsite teams, managing community financial health, enhancing resident relations, and maintaining community standards and visual appeal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a customer service-driven atmosphere for residents, prospects, vendors, and employees by promptly addressing and resolving resident concerns and setting a proactive tone for all customer interactions.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members to enhance employee engagement and retention through coaching and leadership that promotes continuous improvement.
  • Supervise and coach the leasing process directly or via a leasing manager, especially in larger properties.
  • Develop strong internal and external community relationships to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Communicate organizational business strategies clearly to community leaders to maintain operational consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage financial performance with accountability for budgeting variances, forecasting, and identifying revenue growth opportunities.
  • Maintain community conditions to meet Irvine Company standards at all times.
  • Prepare and oversee resident communications effectively.
  • Proactively address potential resident issues with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate key community metrics, including leasing, renewal goals, net tenant value, NPS scores, and social media feedback, and implement follow-up actions as needed.
  • Conduct audits and inspections ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Promote collaboration across departments within Apartments and other divisions to enhance operational success.
  • Analyze competitive market data regularly to inform pricing strategies and communicate insights to senior management and revenue teams.
  • Coordinate with maintenance leaders and project managers to execute community projects minimizing disruption to residents and prospects.
  • Partner with reinvestment teams to maintain customer service and operational KPIs during ongoing community upgrades.

Additional Responsibilities Based on Community Size

  • Smaller communities: Full responsibility for leasing functions, including coaching to meet or exceed occupancy and availability targets.
  • Larger communities: Work collaboratively with leasing managers to achieve occupancy and availability objectives.

Qualifications and Expectations

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum two years' management experience in a customer service setting; leasing experience preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license and continuous vehicle liability insurance in compliance with state law; frequent driving is a key job function.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English mandatory; multilingual abilities are advantageous.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
  • Availability for after-hours emergency calls.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
