Position Overview
We are seeking a permanent part-time Community Support Worker to join our Arklow Outreach Service in County Wicklow. This 21-hour per week role involves assisting individuals with intellectual, physical, and mental health challenges by providing individualized community support to help them fully participate and be acknowledged as valued community members. The role includes 1:1 support during social activities and facilitating group engagements in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate suitable educational, recreational, and occupational community programs.
- Ensure adherence to best practices informed by the latest research aimed at enhancing quality of life.
- Collaborate effectively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and community personnel to secure accessible activities for service users.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Social Care or an equivalent credential.
- Possession of a full, clean driving license.
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual, physical, and mental health difficulties.
- Familiarity with local community resources is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a starting hourly rate between €15.56 and €17.74 depending on qualifications and experience, with progression on a 12-point salary scale up to €21.56 per hour. Benefits include:
