About the Role

KPMG Canada invites professionals to join their team as Contract Specialists within the Contingent Labour Office (CLO). This role supports the firm’s objective to streamline the engagement of external resources, balancing business commercial needs and mitigating risks. The CLO acts as a trusted advisor, providing expert support to Hiring Managers while continuously evolving its internal processes and documentation.

While the position is primarily onsite in Langley, British Columbia, remote work from anywhere in Canada is possible, with occasional company meetings requiring 1-2 days onsite monthly.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to Hiring Managers on engaging external contingent workers critical to project and client needs.
  • Manage case files concerning external resources from onboarding, contract duration, renewals, to offboarding across multiple business functions and locations nationwide.
  • Promote and uphold the CLO’s internal brand by delivering customer-focused service and acting as a subject-matter expert.
  • Facilitate intake discussions and offer training on vendor management system usage.
  • Perform due diligence including background and business verifications, KPMG history checks, and contractor independence assessments.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders keeping them informed of case progress and developments.
  • Document all case-related information in shared repositories for operational transparency and audit compliance.
  • Identify and escalate complex cases as necessary while collaborating effectively within the CLO team to meet business demands.
  • Respond promptly to ad hoc inquiries received through team or personal communication channels, providing clarification or guidance as appropriate.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives including assessment impact analysis, updating SOPs, forms, and knowledge resources.
  • Educate and train related internal teams such as Procurement, HR, and offshore groups on new or revised contingent labour policies and workflows.
  • Stay updated on contingent workforce-related legislation, policies, and best practices.

Candidate Profile

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a case management role, preferably involving staffing agencies, contract labour, or contingent workforce management.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; bilingualism with French is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for interacting with senior partners, contractors, external providers, and interdisciplinary experts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in handling documentation and complex cases.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment managing multiple priorities and diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Organized with strong multitasking abilities and a commitment to delivering timely, high-quality service.
  • Adept at identifying workflow optimization opportunities and conducting detailed impact analyses for continuous improvements.
  • Proficient in multiple technologies; experience with vendor management systems such as Flextrack or Beeline is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel; familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus.
  • Possesses a college or university degree relevant to the field.
