About Really Bright Media
Really Bright Media, located in Newington Green, London, is a dynamic creative film studio that collaborates with major global brands and diverse influential voices. Our work portfolio encompasses TV commercials, brand campaigns, corporate films, music videos, podcasts, documentaries, and original projects developed by our own team.
We have recently partnered with clients such as Mondelez International, AWS, Service 95, King's College London, and Macmillan, while maintaining a strong history of collaborations with companies like Microsoft, Unilever, Pepsico, and Spotify.
Role Overview
We are searching for a Creative Director to join our tightly-knit team of 14. This critical role involves leading and nurturing our creative team, which includes six members: two motion designers and four filmmakers. As the Creative Director, you will guide the creative process from initial brief through final delivery, offering hands-on involvement as needed, and working closely with clients during concept pitches and ongoing relationship development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and provide creative and technical direction to a team of six creatives.
- Manage, mentor, and foster development within the team daily.
- Drive creative strategy and ideation from briefing stages to project completion.
- Write scripts, treatments, proposals, and pitch decks to support client engagements.
- Create style frames, storyboards, and contribute to brand strategy formulation.
- Lead internal brainstorming sessions and pitch concepts confidently to clients.
- Direct film projects appropriately, with support from senior directors on major shoots.
- Ensure creative quality control throughout post-production processes.
- Support account management activities and help cultivate significant client relationships.
- Help establish and uphold the creative standards across the studio.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a directing reel demonstrating solid craftsmanship and confidence; flagship campaigns are not mandatory but the team must trust your vision and feedback.
- Strong design background with acute attention to detail.
- Good understanding of post-production elements such as editing, color grading, sound design, and final delivery for proactive quality feedback.
- Familiarity with animation and motion design sufficient to guide and critique effectively.
- Some prior experience in managing or mentoring, formally or informally.
- Comfortable presenting and pitching to clients, including to senior stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of production budgets and scheduling to contribute realistic input, collaborating with the Head of Production who manages specifics.
- Passion for a mix of corporate, brand, and artistic projects without compartmentalizing these areas.
Perks and Benefits
- A genuine opportunity for advancement into creative leadership supported by senior team members, avoiding solitary responsibilities.
- Eligibility for performance incentives.
- Allocated time and budget for personal projects and professional development such as training or festival attendance.
- Clearly defined career progression opportunities.
Work Location
This position is based onsite at our office in Newington Green, N16 9BU, London, with some flexibility for remote working.
