Demand Planner

Role Overview

The Demand Planner will develop, verify, and manage detailed bottom-up demand forecasts for products distributed globally, emphasizing Southeast Asia markets. This role requires collaboration with multiple departments including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, and others to generate precise forecasts, maintain appropriate inventory, and communicate potential risks and opportunities effectively. The individual will also spearhead continuous enhancements in demand forecasting and contribute significantly to Integrated Business Planning and Sales & Operations Execution processes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create and validate volume demand forecasts by market using historical data, market trends, and commercial team insights to support strategic business and production planning.
• Analyze SKU-level modifications, product ranging, new product development schedules, and unique business needs, ensuring forecasts align with corporate objectives through regular stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure SKU data readiness and SAP IBP system updates, including timely uploads and approvals following regional guidelines.
• Compile baseline demand forecasts and finalize them for leadership endorsement each month.
• Foster strong partnerships with Sales, Marketing, Supply, Finance, Order Management, and Channel teams to understand factors affecting forecast accuracy and inventory management.
• Act as the principal contact for demand planning inquiries and ad hoc requests within the region.
• Coordinate with market teams to manage product ranging strategies including launches and discontinuations.
• Contribute to regular meetings with distributors, market teams, and leadership to review forecast status.
• Conduct performance monitoring and root cause analysis of forecast accuracy, implementing improvements as needed.
• Produce comprehensive reports and dashboards highlighting key performance indicators and trends for senior management.
• Present forecast updates, risk assessments, and opportunities during Integrated Business Planning and Demand Review Meetings.
• Collaborate to reduce stockouts and mitigate inventory risks alongside Supply Planning and Channel Management.
• Facilitate allocation and demand shaping aligned with supply and purchase requirements.
• Oversee planning activities for excess inventory reduction, end-of-life SKU management, and spare parts demand validation.
• Lead initiatives to refine demand planning methods, streamline processes, and elevate forecast precision.
• Support the implementation and ongoing use of enabling technologies such as SAP IBP at local and regional levels.
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices and incorporate them to advance regional demand planning capabilities.
• Keep systematic records of forecasts, maintain process compliance, and update tracking tools related to excess stock and new product development.
• Ensure all forecasts are uploaded timely and accurately into company systems per global process requirements.
