Demand Planner

Position Overview

Marc Jacobs International invites applications for a Demand Planner to join their Planning Team at the New York City (SoHo) headquarters. This role supports the entire product lifecycle, focusing on optimizing inventory, tracking sales trends, and ensuring financial targets are met through agile forecasting and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update multiple weekly reports to support ongoing business needs.
• Manage demand planning and forecasting at the style level for over 100 top-selling global products using a bottom-up approach.
• Identify missed opportunities in inventory and recommend additional stock where necessary.
• Aggregate style forecasts and analyze discrepancies against overall sales projections (top-down planning).
• Collaborate closely with the Merchandising team to align business strategies and priorities.
• Support the Planning Manager during Open-to-Buy cycles by data extraction, document preparation, and identifying potential issues.
• Track inventory throughout its lifecycle and suggest corrective plans if needed.
• Undertake various one-time analytical projects as requested by business needs.

Candidate Profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience in data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in Excel for data analysis tasks.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable working at both detailed and broad business levels.
• Knowledge of retail mathematics is preferable.
• A keen desire to learn and grow professionally.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $73,000 to $80,000 annually, adjusted based on skills and experience. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, both short and long-term disability coverage, employee discounts, a 401(k) plan with employer match, and automatic employee contributions.
