Role Overview

We are seeking an E-Learning Administrator to join our NBL Head Office in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This position is crucial in maintaining seamless employee learning experiences through effective management and support of the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). The role involves supporting both stakeholders and learners accessing the LMS portal, translating data into actionable insights, and fostering strong relationships across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the Moodle LMS by handling user and learner enrollments, managing access permissions, supporting system functions, monitoring performance, and ensuring the accuracy of course and learner data.
  • Provide frontline assistance to learners, trainers, managers, and staff with LMS access, navigation, and related inquiries; troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with service providers as needed; maintain user support documentation and guides.
  • Create, set up, and manage courses, learning pathways, assessments, and certifications; upload and maintain e-learning content ensuring functionality and accessibility across various devices and browsers through periodic quality assurance checks.
  • Incorporate instructional and visual design principles in developing or updating learning materials.
  • Produce, analyze, and share LMS reports with relevant stakeholders, covering aspects like learner engagement, completion statistics, assessment outcomes, and compliance.
  • Utilize Excel for data extraction and analysis to detect trends and suggest improvements for learner engagement and program effectiveness.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand learning needs and translate them into LMS solutions; report on learner progress, system utilization, and learning initiatives while contributing to business-wide learning and development projects.
  • Promote continuous LMS improvement by applying system enhancements, supporting updates, and adopting pioneering e-learning and digital learning trends.
  • Manage skills development administrative support, including recording training interventions on SAP T&E, ensuring documentation integrity, maintaining training archives, following up with sites on data capture issues, and overseeing the L&D SAP T&E inbox.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least three years of experience administering Moodle LMS or a comparable learning management system.
  • Strong understanding of SCORM standards, online assessments, and principles of digital learning.
  • Proficiency in Excel for reporting, data analysis, and dashboard development.
  • Basic skills in instructional and visual design coupled with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Minimum educational qualification of Matric, with higher diploma or degree qualifications considered an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications in Learning Management Systems are a plus.
