Role Overview

As an Engineering Manager within VTS, you will lead a skilled engineering team focused on scaling the Diverge platform to support global expansion. Your responsibilities will involve balancing technical delivery with leadership, maintaining platform reliability in production while evolving it to meet customer and commercial demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead and nurture the engineering team by supporting recruitment, mentoring, and professional growth.
• Oversee delivery throughout the full software lifecycle, including build, testing, deployment, and support phases.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Delivery, and Customer teams to ensure technology aligns with business objectives.
• Provide leadership for Professional Services and Sustaining Engineering teams to guarantee strong performance and customer satisfaction.
• Work with Customer Operations to implement DevOps-driven sustaining practices that enhance reliability, responsiveness, and incident resolution.
• Promote continuous improvement in engineering methodologies, standards, and workflows.
• Contribute to shaping the engineering function’s future by balancing delivery needs with scalability and innovation.

The Platform

Diverge is a cloud-native SaaS platform designed for energy data ingestion, processing, insights, and delivery. Built entirely on AWS serverless technologies, it facilitates scalable, resilient, real-time data processing for mission-critical applications. The platform is deployed via infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment pipelines.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in engineering leadership, including managing leaders.
• Strong technical skills in Java and/or .NET with the ability to engage in hands-on coding when necessary.
• Proficiency with AWS serverless architecture, SaaS, and cloud-native environments.
• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, DevOps, and agile methodologies.
• Experience managing live platforms that require balancing delivery with operational reliability and ongoing support.
• An outcome-driven and pragmatic approach to solving complex problems.
• Excellent communication abilities and skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
• Curious mindset with the ability to balance innovative efforts alongside commercial priorities.
