About Bridge to Health Medical and Dental

Bridge to Health Medical and Dental is a recognized Canadian charity and a US 501(c)3 organization committed to empowering communities for improved health outcomes. The organization collaborates with local partners to deliver sustainable and cost-effective healthcare through educational initiatives, clinical services, and relevant medical technology tailored to community needs. Its multifaceted approach focuses on medical, dental, and community capacity building, guided by a Human-Centered Design methodology that prioritizes the genuine needs of beneficiaries through frequent community engagement.

Active projects primarily occur in Kenya and Uganda in cooperation with local governments, academic institutions, and healthcare partners. Past programs include point-of-care ultrasound training coupled with cloud-supported resources, medical and dental education programs, scholarships, clinical outreach efforts, and cervical cancer screening. Bridge to Health builds health programs that integrate prevention and treatment jointly with civil society and public sector entities.

Role Overview

We invite applications for a voluntary, part-time Executive Director to start on August 1, 2026, contributing approximately 20 hours weekly from a remote setting. This leadership position reports directly to the Board of Directors and carries responsibility for guiding Bridge to Health's strategic vision, operational efficiency, financial wellbeing, and human resources to ensure ongoing sustainability and program excellence. A key focus is to devise and implement growth strategies that will evolve this role into a full-time paid leadership position.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Provide visionary leadership with a record of growing organizations while managing transitions.
• Inspire stakeholders internally and externally to extend healthcare access, educational programs, and foster international cooperation.
• Lead strategic, financial, and fundraising initiatives to strengthen organizational growth and sustainability.
• Oversee operational effectiveness and financial management while mentoring the senior team, staff, and volunteers.
• Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare professionals, community groups, donors, sponsors, governmental bodies, grant providers, and global collaborators.
• Acquire and manage varied funding sources, introducing creative fundraising solutions and ensuring prudent use of resources.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture built on accountability, volunteerism, and continual improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess between 5 and 10 years of leadership in nonprofit, healthcare, international development, or public sector settings.
• Exhibit strong financial acumen coupled with operational leadership skills.
• Demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and global health justice.
• Thrive in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders with innovative and entrepreneurial approaches.
• Act as an ambassador representing the organization locally, nationally, and internationally to enhance reputation and impact.

This role is voluntary with no monetary remuneration.
