Overview
Doman Building Materials Group is seeking multiple General Labourers for their wood processing operations located 23 KM east of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. These permanent full-time roles involve a physically demanding 4-day work week schedule, assisting in various stages of wood product processing under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload, load, and sort wood products, handling pieces into machinery during production processes.
- Manually guide wood against saw blades and operate automatic feeding devices to ensure accurate cuts.
- Feed wood products into peeling and trimming machines.
- Inspect and measure wood pieces to mark and verify cutting accuracy.
- Count, sort, and stack finished wood products.
- Dispose of waste materials and perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong commitment to workplace safety standards.
- Ability to accurately count and identify various types of lumber products.
- Good hand-eye coordination and capacity to maintain concentration over extended periods.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms), including frequent bending and reaching.
- Proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment such as hand, eye, and ear protection.
- Experience in wood processing or lumber yard operations is advantageous.
- Flexibility to meet operational and scheduling needs, including occasional overtime or weekend shifts.
Work Environment
- Ability to work year-round in outdoor conditions with temperature extremes including hot summers and very cold winters.
- Work environment may be noisy and dusty with machinery involving hazardous blades.
- Job requires stamina to stand, bend, and lift regularly.
Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must possess own steel-toed safety boots.

Compensation and Schedule
- Compensation is provided at an hourly rate.
