About Te Au Reka Programme
Te Au Reka represents a significant initiative to enhance justice accessibility for all residents of New Zealand through modernizing the courts and tribunals system. This large-scale programme focuses on replacing outdated, manual, and paper-heavy processes with an innovative digital case management platform, revolutionizing access and interaction with the justice system across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Role Overview
The Implementation Manager will lead and synchronize diverse implementation efforts combining technological deployment, operational preparedness, and change management to achieve effective outcomes within the Te Au Reka programme. Working collaboratively with programme leaders, IT specialists, change management teams, stakeholders, and external collaborators, this role ensures smooth integration of new digital services into existing operations while maintaining business continuity and delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate implementation plans across multiple interconnected workstreams.
- Manage dependencies linking technology, operational processes, change initiatives, and external partners.
- Support readiness activities including business preparation, go-live strategies, and transition planning.
- Facilitate cross-team planning sessions to maintain integrated delivery schedules.
- Identify potential implementation risks and devise mitigation approaches.
- Advise programme leadership on strategic implementation options, potential impacts, and constraints.
- Conduct impact assessments and contribute to business readiness evaluations.
- Forge and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, external vendors, and partner organisations.
- Participate in governance meetings, delivering insights on risks and progress related to implementation.
- Promote a culture of quality-focused delivery, ongoing improvement, and teamwork.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven background in programme management or senior-level project management roles.
- Track record of success managing large-scale business or digital transformation projects.
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams, especially technology, change management, and operations.
- Capability to manage complex interdependencies and prioritize competing demands effectively.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and relationship building.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving aptitude and systems-thinking perspective.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive results without direct authority.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, that simplify complexity into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with structured governance frameworks.
- Sound judgement for navigating complex organisational settings.
Desirable Attributes
- Understanding of public sector governance and decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of justice sector operations, including courts, tribunals, or related government agencies.

Compensation
The annual salary for this role ranges from NZD 112,766 to NZD 154,680, depending on qualifications and experience.
