Junior Software Developer

About the Role

Helic & Co is looking for a motivated Junior Software Developer to become a part of our dynamic engineering team. This role involves coding, debugging, and building new features for our main software products. It's designed for an early-career coder eager to adopt modern development techniques, engage with live production systems, and advance their skills with active mentor support.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new functionalities by writing clean and maintainable code under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Identify, analyze, and fix defects reported by users or quality assurance.
• Engage in peer code assessments to absorb best coding practices and uphold software quality standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings.
• Author unit and integration tests to guarantee code reliability and performance.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Strong foundational knowledge of at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#.
• Basic understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and fundamental concepts of databases like SQL or NoSQL.
• Experience with version control tools, specifically Git and GitHub.
• High eagerness to learn, excellent communication abilities, and a cooperative approach to teamwork.
