Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience passionate about technology and eager to grow in a full-stack development role. You will collaborate closely with an experienced, product-driven engineering team to enhance our web platform, mobile app, and internal tools — shaping the technology that supports one of the fastest expanding leagues in pro sports.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine user-facing features like player profiles, real-time game statistics, live scoring updates, fan voting systems, interactive challenges, and newsletters.
• Create and maintain backend tools that facilitate league operations, content management, player administration, media workflows, and game-day logistics.
• Engage in end-to-end development covering front-end interfaces, server-side logic, database management, validation rules, and application security measures.
• Enhance integrations with third-party services as well as internal platforms.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our Expo/React Native mobile app.
• Diagnose and resolve software bugs, optimize application performance, and help ensure platform reliability.
• Participate actively in code reviews and collaborate to uphold coding standards and maintainability.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Product and Design to deliver impactful features that enrich both fan and employee experiences.

Qualifications

• Between 1 and 3 years of professional experience in software development, ideally creating customer-focused web applications.
• Solid command of JavaScript or TypeScript languages.
• Hands-on experience with React framework for building interactive interfaces.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Proficient with Git version control, collaborative code review, and pull request workflows.
• Experience integrating external APIs and troubleshooting live applications in production environments.
• Ability to comprehend and extend existing codebases while adhering to established coding standards.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A growth mindset with demonstrated curiosity, ownership, and desire to continually develop technical skills.
• Experience in fast-paced startup or product-focused settings is a strong advantage.
• Bonus skills include working with Next.js, React Native/Expo, PostgreSQL, modern ORM tools, API design, and leveraging AI-driven development tools to enhance code quality and efficiency.
