Lead - Aviation Security Compliance and Operations

Role Overview

The Lead for Aviation Security Compliance & Operations is entrusted with the development, execution, and supervision of aviation security strategies at a major airport facility. This leader ensures complete adherence to regulatory mandates, manages the aviation security team, and fosters strong partnership with all regulatory and stakeholder entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of aviation security policies to safeguard the airport’s interests while ensuring compliance with established aviation standards and BCAS regulations.
• Develop, approve, implement, and maintain Airport Security Programs (ASP) and contingency plans in collaboration with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and security teams.
• Review and routinely update ASPs and security procedures to align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
• Oversee the operations of Pass Section and Integrated Luggage Handling and Baggage Screening (ILHBS) as applicable.
• Contribute site-specific insights to influence overarching security strategy objectives.
• Lead the airport’s airside and terminal security operations to ensure regulatory compliance, policy adherence, and operational excellence.
• Plan, develop, and implement AVSEC procedures while monitoring stakeholder compliance and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
• Guide the security team to establish and sustain Security Management Systems aligned with NCASP & NCASQCP standards.
• Participate in protocol meetings including advance coordination during VIP movements.
• Coordinate and participate in mock drills aligned with contingency plans and national security directives.
• Maintain strong, professional relationships with government regulators and ensure timely reporting and compliance in aviation security matters.
• Drive continuous improvement through conducting security audits, risk assessments, and facilitating mitigation strategies.
• Support CSO in organizing regulatory meetings, audits, and drills and ensure regulatory compliance is maintained at all times.
• Consult and liaise with internal and external departments on security requirements and negotiate resources for optimum security coverage.
• Oversee security vetting processes for airport projects and commercial establishments ensuring compliance with security standards.
• Promote a culture of security awareness among all airport personnel, third parties, and stakeholders.
• Ensure thorough documentation and reporting as per regulatory and organizational policies.
• Lead the investigation of security incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.

The role requires coordination with multiple stakeholders including regulatory authorities, government agencies, and internal airport teams to uphold a robust aviation security environment. The Lead ensures that all security measures remain effective, up-to-date, and integrated within airport operations to maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.
