Position Overview
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Maintenance Manager leads all fleet and equipment maintenance activities at CFT Recycling. This vital role ensures trucks, trailers, heavy machinery, and facility assets remain reliable, safe, and efficient. The role includes managing the maintenance team, establishing preventive maintenance strategies, coordinating with operations to reduce downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise maintenance operations covering company fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, and supporting assets
- Lead and mentor the maintenance team, including mechanics and support personnel
- Design and apply preventive maintenance programs to boost equipment reliability and decrease downtime
- Schedule and prioritize repair work, inspections, and servicing to maintain high fleet availability
- Oversee daily work assignments and manage emergency repair priorities
- Provide expertise in complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air brake system troubleshooting
- Ensure repair work meets corporate standards and complies with regulatory requirements
- Administer maintenance budgets, procurement of parts, inventory control, and vendor relations
- Keep precise maintenance records, inspection notes, and compliance documentation
- Guarantee adherence to health and safety policies, transportation laws, and industry norms
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Fleet teams to promote operational efficiency and limit disruptions
- Identify and implement process enhancements, cost reductions, and equipment performance optimizations
- Foster employee growth through coaching, training, and performance management initiatives
- Maintain a safe, well-organized, and effective maintenance work environment
Qualifications
- Over 7 years of experience in fleet, heavy equipment, or transportation maintenance
- Proven experience in managing maintenance teams, workshops, or fleet operations
- Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical components, air brakes, and heavy machinery
- Possession of a 310T Truck and Coach Technician License is a significant advantage
- Experience with heavy trucks, trailers, excavators, loaders, cranes, or recycling equipment is favorable
- Established leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Effective communication skills and the ability to build cohesive teams
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and fleet management software
- Must hold a valid driver's license
Compensation
The annual salary for this position ranges between $100,000 and $120,000, dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications.
