About Player 15 Group and Role Overview
Player 15 Group operates the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA), Valley Suns (G League), and Mortgage Matchup Center, with a headquarters in downtown Phoenix. The Manager of Night Arena Operations is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the security and safety of various properties including the Mortgage Matchup Center, Player 15 Headquarters, and 5G Performance Center during nighttime hours.
Responsibilities
- Act as the leading point of contact for all night-time security incidents and emergencies across multiple Player 15 Group venues.
- Develop and enforce standardized patrol procedures to enhance campus security efforts.
- Conduct routine safety inspections inside and outside the facilities according to a consistent schedule.
- Assist in managing security technology systems such as cameras and access controls.
- Coordinate security staff scheduling to ensure sufficient coverage during events, daily operations, and emergencies.
- Engage with guests who report concerns or complaints by conducting follow-ups and ensuring resolution.
- Document and process all claims, incidents, and legal issues, collaborating with internal and external legal counsel as necessary.
- Support event security by investigating incidents, reviewing video footage, and preparing related documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding lawsuits and sensitive company matters.
- Ensure compliance with life safety codes throughout events.
- Participate regularly in meetings involving all levels of team members, executives, clients, and vendors.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Availability to work exclusively overnight shifts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to create briefing materials and interact across organizational levels.
- Proven ability to manage and respond effectively to security incidents, exhibiting strong problem-solving under pressure.
- Minimum of 10 years in the security industry including supervisory roles; experience leading teams of 100 or more preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 strongly preferred and must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in security management within major market arenas or large facilities is advantageous.
- Physical ability to traverse extensive areas of the arena for extended periods.
- Must be able to engage in clear communication both over the phone and in person, and proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.
- Work is primarily indoors with minimal exposure to harsh weather; tasks involve occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
