Role overview
An opportunity has opened for a driven Project Engineer to contribute to a major civil engineering programme. This position offers hands-on responsibility within project delivery, working closely with senior engineers and leadership to keep the works moving safely and to the required standard.
The role focuses on technical coordination, delivery against programme, and maintaining quality across site activities. You will also help ensure the project is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with specifications.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee engineering activities on site and coordinate with clients, designers, and subcontracting teams.
- Handle technical compliance, setting out, and the flow of construction information.
- Track progress against schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Assist with procurement, site logistics, and materials control.
- Spot potential project risks early and help reduce their impact.
- Maintain strong standards for health, safety, environmental performance, and quality.
What you should bring
- Previous experience on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Solid technical understanding, including the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Good organisational ability and a practical approach to solving problems.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with several disciplines.
- HNC, HND, or a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- SMSTS certification.
