Position Overview

Join Cisco's Distributed Systems Engineering team within the Networking organization, where you will develop and test scalable software solutions that support widely-used Internet products, impacting millions globally. This opportunity involves working on hardware and software crucial to the Internet’s future.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the team, you will contribute to testing network software, building automation environments, and developing continuous deployment frameworks using Python. Your work will focus on next-generation routing and packet-optical products aimed at service providers, emphasizing automation development and test execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion or near completion (within 12 months) of a relevant degree or certification program (Associate’s, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or specialized certifications) plus related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with no required experience.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, or Bash.
• Hands-on experience in testing, quality assurance, or debugging through academic projects, work, or other engagements.
• Familiarity with automation testing, writing test cases, regression testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Keen understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals, operating systems, embedded development, machine learning, and AI.
• Knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, ISIS, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
• Experience using traffic generator tools such as IXIA or Spirent, including virtual environments.
• Strong multitasking abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and good organizational capabilities.
• A team-oriented mindset with dedication, accountability, and results-driven approach.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role in the U.S. and Canada is $107,800 to $136,800 annually, exclusive of bonuses, equity, or benefits. Salary depends on factors such as location, skills, experience, and education.
