Role Overview

We are currently inviting applications for a Transport Coordinator position to join our Faversham Transport team on a permanent night shift basis. This role goes beyond basic transport administration, placing you at the core of the night operations coordinating drivers, overseeing active transport movements, and ensuring safe, effective, and punctual deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

Arrange and manage night-time transport activities ensuring drivers and vehicles depart safely, efficiently, and punctually.
Serve as the initial point of contact for drivers, delivering support, troubleshooting issues, and escalating concerns as necessary.
Communicate operational instructions by briefing and debriefing drivers accurately.
Track ongoing routes during shifts and respond promptly to delays or complications ensuring service continuity.
Assist the Transport Shift Manager in daily transport operation management.
Oversee driver assignments ensuring optimal resource utilization.
Assist with driver oversight including return-to-work discussions and daily supervision.
Ensure compliance with legal standards, including adherence to Operator Licence regulations and transport paperwork.
Handle payroll tasks, Kronos exceptions, holiday records, and other transport office duties with precision and in a timely manner.
Collaborate closely with Transport, Warehouse, and Planning teams to maintain smooth operational flow.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Experience working in transport, logistics, or distribution environments.
Background in roles such as Transport Coordinator, Transport Administrator, or Transport Planner.
Strong communication skills with drivers and capability to allocate tasks and make operational decisions confidently.
Supervisory experience preferred, including managing driver performance and conducting return-to-work conversations.
Excellent organizational skills to prioritize multiple duties in a fast-paced setting.
High attention to detail and ability to stay composed under pressure.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with transport or workforce management software like Kronos.
Understanding of transport compliance and Operator Licence rules is advantageous.

Work Pattern and Location Details

Nights - working 4 days on, 4 days off.
Shift hours: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Work location: Faversham, ME13 7TW, England, UK.
