Job Description

This role commences on 01.09.2026 and spans 12 to 24 months, with part-time engagement averaging 20 hours weekly. Depending on academic schedules, working hours may increase up to 37.5 hours per week during breaks. The position is based at METRO’s office in Düsseldorf.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, review and manage master data attributes related to common sourcing projects to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with various teams such as Sourcing, Global Own Brand Management, Quality Assurance, and Packaging to align data requirements and ensure prompt updates of master data.
• Identify inconsistencies, missing elements, or quality issues within data, coordinating with stakeholders for effective resolution.
• Support process optimization for Own Brand Food, Non-Food, and Wine Handbooks by detecting frequent data problems and suggesting enhancements.
• Act as the go-to contact for inquiries about data and monitor master data KPIs, providing clear reporting.

Candidate Requirements

• Currently enrolled in relevant academic programs such as Business Administration, Business Analytics/Intelligence, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science/IT, Mathematics/Statistics, Management, Logistics, or related fields.
• Genuine interest in wholesale operations and understanding of associated processes.
• Strong teamwork skills coupled with high motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
• Interest in product knowledge and master data management.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Competent with MS Office tools, especially PowerPoint and data analysis; advanced Excel capabilities are an advantage, though not mandatory.
