Apparel Designer

Position Overview

Astoria Activewear and Haute Swimwear are searching for a skilled designer to join their creative team. This role involves collaborating closely with the creative director to analyze market trends, develop innovative clothing designs and prints, and finalize samples for approval prior to production. A keen aesthetic sense and meticulous attention to detail are essential, alongside the ability to align design output with the brand's established style. A genuine passion for women's fashion is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong awareness of current fashion trends and apply this knowledge with a sharp aesthetic perspective and attention to detail.
• Design women's fashion apparel, utilizing both CAD tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator or hand sketching techniques.
• Choose suitable fabrics, trims, and materials that reflect the brand's aesthetic and current trends.
• Fit garments and make necessary modifications to perfect designs.
• Prepare detailed technical packs and coordinate with manufacturers to procure samples for each new design collection.
• Work independently to meet project deadlines.
• Communicate effectively and manage organizational tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years proven experience in women's fashion or clothing design.
• Bachelor's degree in design, fashion, or a related discipline is advantageous.
• Familiarity and prior use of the company's products and brand is a plus.
• Experience or knowledge in social media and marketing adds value.
