About the Role
We are seeking a proficient CAD Developer specializing in Telecom Network Design and Automation to join our team. The candidate will focus on creating, tailoring, and maintaining CAD-based tools and workflows designed to streamline telecom network planning and design processes. A solid grasp of CAD software such as AutoCAD, ProgeCAD, or MicroStation along with telecom network engineering principles is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and enhance CAD automation tools and scripts (including AutoLISP, .NET, VBA) to improve telecom network design efficiencies.
- Collaborate with project teams to comprehend telecom design requirements such as FTTx, OSP, ISP, FTTH, and pole/conduit layouts.
- Develop and standardize telecom-specific CAD templates, symbols, layers, and line types.
- Automate the creation of Bills of Materials (BOM) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from CAD drawings.
- Integrate CAD workflows with enterprise applications like GIS, IQGeo, and Smallworld.
- Identify and resolve tool-related issues through debugging, carry out user acceptance testing, and maintain deployment stability.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams including Design, Automation, AI/ML, and RPA to improve productivity.
- Implement version control, thorough documentation, and follow software development lifecycle processes when developing tools.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer, user training, and promote wider adoption of the tools within the team.
Qualifications and Skills
- In-depth experience with AutoCAD, ProgeCAD, and QGIS alongside customization capabilities.
- Proficiency in AutoLISP, C#/.NET, Python, and VBA for automating CAD operations.
- Experience in Telecom Network Design focusing on FTTx, OSP, ISP, and preferably FTTH.
- Understanding of CAD standards covering layers, symbols, blocks, line styles, and templates.
- Knowledge of GIS platforms like ArcGIS and IQGeo is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in team settings.
