Role overview
QBE Insurance is hiring a permanent full-time Case Manager to join its Workers’ Compensation team in Hobart, Tasmania. This position is a hybrid arrangement, combining office-based work with work from home.
In this role, you’ll manage claims from start to finish, support injured workers through their recovery and return-to-work process, and guide employers through the journey as well. The focus is on delivering a positive customer experience while keeping claims on track and managed responsibly.

What you’ll do
- Serve as the main contact for key stakeholders involved in a claim, including injured workers, employers, general practitioners, and other medical professionals.
- Support workers on their return-to-work path by coordinating communication and next steps across all parties.
- Keep claims moving within required timelines and ensure actions align with legislation, internal policies, and compliance standards.
- Carry out in-person interactions such as case conferences, claim reviews, and site visits when needed.
- Review cases promptly, then plan, shape, and implement claim strategies suited to each matter.
- Set clear expectations for workers and employers, explain legislative responsibilities, and manage claims in a financially responsible way.
