Certification Manager

Overview

Our partner company based in the United States is seeking a Certification Manager to take charge of a growing technical certification program designed to validate professionals' expertise in modern data technologies. This influential role involves designing and expanding practical certification exams, improving credential experiences, and fostering a vibrant global community of certified professionals. The Certification Manager will collaborate with subject matter experts and diverse teams to maintain accurate, industry-relevant certification content and will use data insights to enhance the program continually. The role is set in a remote-first, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of a technical certification program featuring hands-on, performance-based exams.
• Work with experts to perform job task analyses and establish certification goals that align with authentic job scenarios.
• Design, administer, grade, and refine certification exams, including the development of grading scripts and assessment techniques.
• Create quizzes and credentialing assessments that facilitate course completions and certification pathways.
• Oversee relationships with certification and digital badge vendors to guarantee seamless exam and credential delivery.
• Monitor program metrics and analytics to recognize opportunities for ongoing enhancements.
• Support learners pursuing certification by ensuring a positive candidate experience and providing guidance.
• Engage the certified professional community via social media, industry events, conferences, and meetups.
• Represent the certification program at selected events to promote initiatives and build community ties.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in developing certification exams and technical assessments for technical professionals such as software engineers and database experts.
• Strong command of SQL and database technologies, with exposure to DBMS, OLAP, distributed systems, cloud platforms, SaaS, or big data ecosystems.
• Experience designing hands-on or performance-based certification exams is highly desirable.
• Ability to rapidly acquire new technical knowledge and transform it into effective educational and assessment content.
• Exceptional project management capabilities capable of juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset across engineering, product, support, marketing, and learning teams.
• Self-driven, well-organized, accountable, and proactive in addressing challenges and fostering continuous improvement.
• Preferably holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Additional expertise in curriculum design, technical training, cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), or database technologies is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, meetups, and industry gatherings.
