Job Summary
The Client Service Manager plays a pivotal role in the service yard by coordinating projects, resolving issues, and ensuring every vessel receives top-tier care. This role thrives in a dynamic environment where strong customer relationships and pride in quality workmanship are key. Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture strong customer relationships, represent the company liaison, identify service needs, and communicate throughout repair processes including coordinating boat pick-ups.
- Manage administrative duties such as generating detailed work orders with parts, labor, and costs; conduct off-site boat inspections and estimates; and maintain records in ERP/MRP systems.
- Coordinate projects by collaborating with supervisors to schedule workforce and equipment, provide comprehensive work orders, and establish delivery timelines.
- Oversee quality assurance by inspecting and verifying work before billing and boat departures, monitor job progress, and secure customer approvals for additional work or scope modifications.
- Support sales and marketing by promoting additional services and parts, assist in boat shows and marketing events, and fulfill other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Three to five years of experience in roles generating revenue through service operations.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline is preferred.
- Proven ability to sell technical services or luxury products.
- Competency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and complex specifications.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and contracts.
- Skilled in estimating labor, repairs, and associated costs in boat maintenance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Previous experience in a boatyard or shipyard setting is desirable.
