Responsibilities

• Ensure timely collection and secure transport of medical specimens as per scheduled routes
• Deliver medical reports and other mail accurately to designated locations
• Represent Dynacare professionally and courteously at all times
• Maintain the safety and security of the assigned vehicle throughout operations

Requirements

• Valid G drivers’ license with a clean three-year driving record
• Minimum one year driving experience in commercial courier or related roles
• Certified in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
• Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and handling specimen bags and supplies
• Positive attitude with strong independence, reliability, punctuality, and teamwork skills

Working Conditions

• Handling biohazards including body fluids safely
• Exposure to extreme weather conditions including hot and cold
• Manoeuvring stairs and repeated vehicle ingress and egress as part of daily routine
• Driving within city, highway, and potentially rural or out-of-town areas, sometimes for long hours
• Complying with all safety and regulatory measures related to TDG regulated substances

Additional Information

• Shift hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00 pm to 1:30 am
• Location: 1430 Blair Towers Pl, Ottawa, Ontario
• Hourly pay range: $19.00 to $22.75, final compensation dependent on experience and education
• Employment conditional upon clear criminal background check and driver abstract
