Role overview
The Drafting Trainer will design, run, and assess technical drafting training for both trainees and employees. This position combines classroom teaching, hands-on demonstration, learner evaluation, and the creation of training resources. The aim is to build the drafting capability needed to meet industry expectations and internal standards, with a strong focus on Oil & Gas operations.
Key duties
- Build and conduct drafting training sessions at basic, intermediate, and advanced levels, using both classroom-based teaching and practical exercises.
- Prepare and update learning content such as lesson plans, slide decks, manuals, quizzes, exams, and supporting reference materials.
- Review trainee progress through written tests and practical assessments, share actionable feedback, and suggest development plans where needed.
- Track attendance, learning progress, and classroom conduct to support a focused and productive training environment.
- Keep training logs, evaluation outcomes, and related records accurate and aligned with company processes.
- Deliver training in line with company policies, engineering standards, and HSE expectations, while contributing to ongoing improvements in the training program.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, an associate degree/two-year diploma in Drafting Technology, or a high school/vocational diploma in Engineering Drawing or Drafting.
- At least 4 years of relevant Oil & Gas experience if the candidate holds a degree, or 11 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Strong spoken and written English, supported by IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent TOEFL score; Arabic knowledge will be considered an added advantage.
- Working ability in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, with drafting exposure in mechanical, civil, structural, or architectural work.
- Background in teaching, mentoring, coaching, or delivering practical and classroom-based technical instruction.
Additional information
This role is focused on technical capability building for drafting professionals and places particular emphasis on quality, compliance, and hands-on learning outcomes. The position is based in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia, and is full-time, onsite.
