Electrical Estimation Engineer

Job Overview

We invite an experienced Electrical Estimation Engineer to join our team at the Riyadh Head Office. This position demands extensive expertise in electrical cost estimation and tendering within the construction sector, especially for infrastructure and building projects. The role involves preparing precise cost calculations, analyzing tender documentation, conducting detailed quantity take-offs, gathering supplier quotations, and developing competitive technical and commercial proposals.

Key Duties

• Formulate detailed and accurate electrical cost estimates and tender submissions for various infrastructure and construction ventures.
• Examine tender papers, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to determine project demands.
• Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs related to electrical components such as power and control cables, switchboards, distribution panels, lighting fixtures, transformers, earthing and lightning protections, and containment systems including conduits, cable trays, and trunking.
• Solicit and assess quotations from vendors and subcontractors effectively.
• Evaluate costs associated with labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracting to establish competitive pricing strategies.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and project teams throughout the tender process.
• Engage in value engineering and seek cost efficiencies while ensuring adherence to project specifications.
• Maintain and regularly update electrical costing databases and pricing trends reflecting the current market.
• Ensure all cost estimates comply with client standards, local regulatory requirements, and corporate guidelines.
• Provide technical and commercial clarifications to support contract negotiations as needed.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in electrical estimation and tendering within construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methodologies.
• Proven proficiency in quantity take-off and cost evaluation for infrastructure or building projects.
• Strong insight into the Saudi Arabian construction market and pricing dynamics.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and relevant estimation software.
• Excellent analytical capabilities, negotiation skills, and effective communication.
• Professional certifications such as RICS are highly valued.
• Arabic language skills are preferred but not mandatory.
