About the Role

Dornan Engineering Group is a prominent international engineering contractor handling significant projects throughout Europe, the UK, and Ireland. Based in our Cork or Dublin locations, we present an exciting opening for an Electrical Estimator to join our expanding Estimating team. This role involves leading the preparation of precise electrical cost estimates and aiding the successful completion of tenders for high-value projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile and organize tender submissions and acquire pre-project details within set deadlines.
• Deliver timely, accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates from the initial inquiry through to bid submission.
• Conduct follow-ups on submitted tender proposals.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes, ensuring thorough review of inclusions and exclusions.
• Engage with clients in post-tender meetings and deliver presentations.
• Support the broader estimating team as needed.
• Participate in tender and subsequent meetings when required.
• Complete any additional responsibilities delegated by your manager.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Estimator within engineering, construction, or MEP sectors.
• Prior involvement with hyperscale data center projects across Europe, the UK, or other international markets is advantageous.
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and understand team capabilities.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, tender documents, and client requirements with precision.
• Experienced in preparing detailed cost estimates, take-offs, and tender documentation for complex electrical projects.
• Excellent commercial insight to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills capable of collaborating with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, and clients.
• Meticulous attention to detail committed to generating high-quality, accurate estimates.
• Self-driven with the capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Relevant educational background in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Self-awareness regarding strengths and growth areas, with dedication to ongoing professional development.
