About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Embedded Software Engineer specializing in Android platforms to develop highly specialized, real-time, medical-grade software for AR-assisted surgical procedures. This position focuses on embedded Android development combined with advanced computer vision integration and requires expertise in JNI/NDK and real-time camera handling for hands-free surgical workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded Android applications tailored for augmented reality devices.
- Implement and optimize real-time video processing pipelines using the Camera2 API.
- Integrate native C++ computer vision libraries via JNI and NDK frameworks.
- Build and manage state machines coordinating surgical workflows.
- Develop hands-free control systems leveraging gesture recognition and sensor inputs.
- Ensure low-latency rendering and processing for wearable AR systems.
- Create reliable, medical-grade software with robust crash recovery capabilities.
- Develop augmented reality navigation tools used during live surgical operations.
Technical Environment
- Android 13 operating system running on ARM64 architecture.
- Java programming with JNI and C++ integration.
- Expertise in Camera2 API for camera stream processing.
- Utilization of OpenCV for computer vision features.
- Development within Gradle and Android Studio environments.
- Focus on embedded Android and real-time wearable device architectures.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Android software development.
- In-depth knowledge of Camera2 API (excluding CameraX).
- Proficient with JNI and NDK for native integration.
- Previous experience with embedded Android or wearable technology is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills applied to complex real-time software challenges.
Additional Advantages
