Engineer Fire Services

About the Role

This role entails managing the fire station operations and ensuring the readiness and proper functioning of fire safety equipment and vehicles to control and mitigate fire incidents following the company's fire safety policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to established fire safety policies, procedures, and maintenance programs to maintain assurance of fire safety services.
• Investigate all fire-related incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Support plant-level fire safety audits and assist in implementing corrective actions for identified gaps.
• Maintain and update Risk Assessment (RA) documentation to ensure sufficient fire prevention measures.
• Organize and conduct daily fire drills to prepare for effective emergency responses.
• Identify potential hazards and apply appropriate firefighting strategies for various emergency scenarios involving processes, tank farms, or marine incidents.
• Respond immediately to emergency calls, lead incident command and control, and ensure mobilization of resources for emergency management.
• Deploy suitable firefighting equipment and coordinate with emergency responders and the incident commander.
• Develop training materials and conduct fire safety awareness sessions for fire executives and site employees.
• Ensure all firefighting equipment, vehicles, and communication tools are functional and ready at the fire stations.
• Report non-compliance and implement corrective measures to reduce such incidents.
• Maintain accurate logs, occurrence records, and shift-related documentation in accordance with fire safety requirements.

Educational Requirements

Essential qualifications include Bachelor of Engineering in Fire, Diploma Engineering, Bachelor of Science with Station Officer Course, Grad I (IFE UK/India), or Sub Officer Course.

Experience and Skills

• Strong expertise in fire safety management.
• Proficiency in the application and management of various firefighting equipment and resources for effective emergency handling.
• Good knowledge of SAP systems and corresponding transactions.
• Skills in teamwork, delegation, communication, and time management.
• Competence in planning and decision-making.

Technical Competencies

• Observation and management of mock drills.
• Compliance with emergency response protocols.
• Adherence to training schedules and CAS compliance.
• Ensure availability and operational readiness of firefighting systems.
