Role Overview

The Food & Beverage Hostess is a pivotal team member responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests upon arrival. This includes greeting guests warmly, managing reservations and seating plans, and facilitating an efficient flow of restaurant service. The role demands strong communication, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to superior customer service to enhance the guest dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests cordially and escort them to their designated tables.
• Manage restaurant reservations, waitlists, and table assignments efficiently.
• Handle incoming calls and respond to guest inquiries with professionalism.
• Coordinate seating plans with servers and restaurant management to optimize space utilization.
• Inform guests about daily menu specials, promotional offers, and anticipated wait times.
• Keep the hostess station clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
• Address guest complaints or special requests courteously, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Observe table turnover and seating availability continuously.
• Ensure that VIP guests and special occasion parties receive extra attentive service.
• Maintain professional attire and adhere to company service standards consistently.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum education level: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurants or customer service settings, is preferred.
• Strong communication abilities and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Well-groomed and professionally presented appearance.
• Capability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with reservation management systems.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are advantageous.
