Finance Manager

Role overview

An established and respected market leader in a growing sales and distribution environment is seeking a Finance Manager to help shape the future of its finance function. Based in Parramatta, NSW, this position offers a salary package of $160,000 to $170,000 plus superannuation and bonus.

Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you will take ownership of a team of accountants while also contributing hands-on technical expertise. The role combines people leadership, month-end and statutory reporting oversight, and finance transformation work across a complex multi-entity business.

This is a role with impact beyond business-as-usual. You will play a key part in major improvement initiatives such as ERP optimisation, standardising balance sheet reconciliations, reviewing fixed asset processes, and lifting financial controls. It is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to grow as a finance leader while influencing change at a strategic level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of accountants
• Improve finance processes across several business units
• Ensure month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting is delivered accurately and on time
• Enhance balance sheet reconciliation practices and strengthen control frameworks
• Act as a technical accounting resource for complex issues and escalations
• Drive ERP optimisation and support future finance systems upgrades
• Review fixed asset procedures and improve governance
• Assist with external audit requirements and annual reporting
• Take ownership of quarterly stakeholder reporting and continuous improvement
• Work with Commercial Finance and operational teams to improve reporting quality and business performance
• Support major organisational change and finance integration activities

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is a seasoned Finance Manager who enjoys leading people while also improving business outcomes. You should bring a strong technical accounting background from a large, complex organisation, along with experience delivering process improvements in change-heavy environments.

You will need the ability to balance day-to-day finance delivery with project work, and to build trust quickly with stakeholders at different levels. Confidence in coaching teams and communicating clearly is important. Experience with ERP implementation, finance transformation, or strengthening financial controls will be an advantage.
