About Dermalogica

Dermalogica is a recognized leader in the professional skincare industry, distributing products in over 80 countries. Renowned as the preferred choice among skin therapists worldwide, the company also stands out for its advanced postgraduate education. Following its acquisition by Unilever in 2015, Dermalogica preserves its entrepreneurial spirit, combining fast-paced innovation with access to extensive global resources to continue delivering profitable growth and maintaining market leadership.

Role Overview

The Global Data Analyst will be responsible for overseeing Dermalogica’s global and international reporting and analytics framework across multiple markets and channels. This position involves maintaining, enhancing, and occasionally creating dashboards using Tableau and Power BI. Collaboration with IT and market teams is essential to ensure data accuracy and quality for global sell-in and sell-out datasets. The key objective is to provide dependable and prompt insights to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop global and international reports and dashboards within Power BI, including validation of data quality and updating content with new market or channel information.
  • Maintain dashboards that utilize manual data inputs (such as US Amazon sell-out reports), identifying opportunities to automate and simplify existing Excel reports via Power BI.
  • Take responsibility for sell-out data integrity and act as a liaison between business users and IT on sell-in data issues, streamlining reporting processes continuously.
  • Deliver timely analytical support for global departments, market general managers, and senior leadership, addressing dashboard queries and ensuring data accuracy across regions.
  • Provide standardized, user-friendly analytical tools and dashboards to foster self-sufficient performance management, monitoring usage, archiving obsolete reports, and ensuring proper accessibility.
  • Design and implement new end-to-end Power BI dashboards from data modeling to visualization, focusing on actionable insights and benchmarking against targets, history, and market comparisons.
  • Conduct monthly innovation tracking by analyzing market launch performance and trends by region and channel.
  • Develop analytical models to evaluate the impact of business opportunities on existing channels, identifying risks and growth potential through cross-market and competitor brand analysis.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant analytical experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel, with hands-on experience in developing visualizations from large and diverse datasets; skills in additional BI/ETL tools, Python, and automation platforms like Power Automate are advantageous.
  • Highly self-driven, detail-focused, and organized with the ability to learn independently.
  • Technologically savvy and open to learning new tools, systems, and methodologies.
  • Strong sense of ownership with the initiative to identify and resolve issues comprehensively in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytical thinker capable of tackling complex, ambiguous challenges, performing root cause analysis, and crafting solution-oriented responses.
  • Confidence to constructively challenge existing practices and advocate for change.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range is $80,000 to $100,000 annually, influenced by factors such as experience, skills, education, and budgetary considerations. This role is eligible for participation in the company’s discretionary bonus plan, based on individual performance and company outcomes.

Additional benefits include a competitive health insurance package encompassing life, accident, and disability coverage, wellness initiatives, paid family leave, domestic partner benefits, education and training programs, product discounts, fitness reimbursements, 401(k) matching, and various other perks.

Work Location and Conditions

The position is headquartered in Carson, Los Angeles, and requires a hybrid work schedule adhering to onsite guidelines.

Additional Information

Visa sponsorships including student visas and H1B will not be considered at this time. Dermalogica promotes equal opportunity employment and fosters an inclusive culture where all employees are respected, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
