Role Overview

The HR Generalist is a key member of Airbnb’s Employee Experience team, focusing primarily on supporting teams across the Americas. Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business Talent teams to shape and support Employee Experience and People strategies for specific units
  • Act as the primary HR advisor for assigned teams, guiding on people-related concerns and resolving issues
  • Develop strong insight into business goals and strategies to align HR efforts effectively
  • Collaborate on projects aimed at supporting business growth and operational improvements
  • Analyze employee data and trends to identify challenges and proactively address them
  • Provide counsel to managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, and managing performance
  • Encourage use of self-service HR tools to empower employees and managers to resolve questions independently
  • Coordinate with Centers of Expertise for managing key programs like performance evaluations, compensation, and talent reviews
  • Work with legal, Total Rewards, Talent Operations, and other partners to maintain compliance and enhance employee experience
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of HR data within Workday
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion aligned with Airbnb’s core values
  • Monitor HR metrics and key performance indicators to assess the success of programs and guide strategic decisions

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience in dynamic, fast-growing, multinational companies
  • Expertise in at least four HR domains including HR Business Partnership, Compensation, Recruiting, Employee Relations, or Talent Management
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations such as Benefits administration, Organizational Design, and Change Management
  • Solid understanding of business operations and how HR supports organizational objectives
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with effective analysis and solution development skills
  • Strong investigative skills to handle sensitive employee matters
  • Competency in analyzing and leveraging HR data to influence decisions and strategies
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of building relationships across all organizational levels
  • Self-driven with a collaborative attitude, able to function independently and within teams
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in an HR-related field; Master’s degree preferred, particularly in Organizational Behavior, Employment Law, or Business
  • Experience with Google Suite for data analysis and visualization
  • Familiarity with Workday or similar HR Information Systems highly valued
  • Knowledge of AI-based HR tools is a plus
  • Interest in the travel industry and passion for travel considered an asset
