About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing daily operations within the HR department, including overseeing employee changes, payroll processes, training initiatives, and fostering positive employee relations.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor, document, and ensure compliance with mandatory and voluntary training programs such as safety protocols, anti-harassment sessions, professional licenses, and various certifications.
- Coordinate recruitment efforts by interviewing candidates and collaborating with department leaders to identify required skills and qualifications.
- Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility.
- Manage new hire orientations and implement employee recognition activities.
- Administer routine HR functions covering compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, dispute resolution, performance evaluations, talent management, workplace safety, and employee development.
- Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, personnel, and managers, escalating complex issues appropriately.
- Participate in disciplinary hearings, termination processes, and investigative procedures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations; regularly review policies to maintain adherence.
- Stay informed about HR industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies in talent management and employment law.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills

- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Analytical thinking and adept problem-solving capabilities.
- Skillful in task prioritization and delegation when necessary.
- Highest levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and similar software suites.
- Quick adaptability to learn and utilize HRIS and talent management platforms used by the organization.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of one year experience in human resource management is advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are beneficial.
Physical Demands
- Extended periods working seated at a desk and using a computer.
- Capability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to access and move through various departments within company facilities.
