About Townmore and the Role

Townmore is expanding its Commercial Team and is actively seeking an Intermediate Project Quantity Surveyor to take lead on a significant educational development located in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee the financial dimension of a €16 million school campus project on North Mon Road. Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will manage the full commercial lifecycle from subcontractor procurement to project closeout, serving as the key financial specialist on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement processes and sub-contractor engagements relevant to the project.
• Conduct monthly valuations and administer variations effectively.
• Perform detailed Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) ensuring financial transparency.
• Maintain rigorous cost control and uphold quality standards throughout the project timeline.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably working with a main contractor in Ireland or the UK.
• Demonstrate familiarity with or direct experience in Education sector projects or significant public works, preferably under Department of Education guidelines.
• Show solid commercial acumen in subcontractor procurement, valuations, variation management, and CVRs.
• Exhibit strong capability in IT tools, especially MS Excel and construction measurement software such as Cubit, CostX, or Buildsoft.
• Hold a Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent construction-related qualification.
