Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the ANZ Editorial Manager to establish the strategic direction for domestic Vocational Education and Training (VET) and university disciplines.
- Act as the subject-matter learning design expert and representative for students and instructors within cross-functional teams including researchers, designers, and marketing and product specialists.
- Review newly released VET Training Packages to determine necessary curriculum updates and revisions.
- Assess existing ANZ-adapted educational products against company quality standards and research insights to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Develop targeted design plans addressing instructional gaps and enriching learning experiences.
- Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to balance educational best practices with commercial priorities.
- Specify content requirements for project planning and scope definition, considering content reuse possibilities.
- Champion inclusivity and accessibility improvements based on established guidelines and best practices.
- Work closely with authors and development teams throughout product creation, integrating diverse viewpoints.
- Create and maintain authoring guidelines to ensure consistent, quality content development across products.
- Evaluate new learning objectives and materials thoroughly using shared evaluation metrics.
- Employ standardized tools and processes to advance projects from conceptualization to delivery.
- Stay informed about evolving industry trends and educational technologies to continuously refine design approaches.
Required Skills and Experience
- Practical application of learning sciences and digital pedagogy to enhance educational products.
- Commitment to fostering innovation and maintaining high standards in assigned content areas.
- Strong communication abilities, adapting messages for diverse audiences and demonstrating persuasive documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative problem-solving aptitude and effectiveness in managing relationships and trade-offs.
- Experience managing complex projects within dynamic, remote team settings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and file sharing platforms.
- 3 to 5 years of full-time professional experience, ideally with a background in corporate environments.
- A growth mindset with dedication to ongoing professional development and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior involvement in the ANZ educational publishing sector.
- Academic or professional credentials in instructional design, learning design, or related disciplines.
- Teaching background in higher education or technical and career education.
- Experience designing content that accommodates diverse and inclusive audiences.
