Role Overview

The Micro Tunneling Machine Operator plays a crucial role in operating and supervising micro tunneling equipment at project sites in Saudi Arabia. This full-time, onsite position requires the operator to manage machine setup, alignment, activation, and shutdown following precise project and company guidelines. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment conditions, performing routine maintenance, tracking operational data such as pressure and alignment, and collaborating closely with engineers and onsite teams to secure precise tunnel positioning and pipe laying.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor micro tunneling machinery safely and according to specifications.
• Prepare equipment for operation including alignment and calibration processes.
• Conduct basic upkeep and mechanical checks on machinery to ensure continuous performance.
• Record operational metrics and promptly report any mechanical or geological anomalies.
• Work alongside site engineers and crew members to maintain accurate tunnel trajectory and construction quality.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and contribute to site readiness activities.
• Maintain neat and regulation-compliant work zones adhering to safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience operating micro tunneling or equivalent trenchless technology equipment.
• Competency in interpreting technical drawings, project specifications, and alignment data relevant to underground pipeline installations.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for maintenance tasks and fault detection with coordination capabilities with maintenance teams.
• Strong adherence to safety protocols, especially for confined space operations and protective equipment use.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary site personnel.
• Prior involvement in underground construction or pipeline projects, particularly within Saudi Arabia or GCC, is advantageous.
• Willingness to undertake field labor including extended shifts as project demands dictate.
• Technical diploma or vocational education in mechanical, civil engineering, or construction fields is beneficial.
