Role Overview
This full-time position in Auckland is a 12-month fixed-term contract within the Procurement team. The Procurement Category Manager will primarily focus on executing category strategies and strengthening supplier partnerships, particularly within Business & Corporate Services and Operational Procurement. The role aims to enhance cost efficiencies, elevate supplier performance, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve impactful business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement category and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Manage and nurture supplier relationships to maximize value, performance, and innovation.
- Lead sourcing initiatives including tenders, negotiations, and overseeing contract management.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs and aid decision-making processes.
- Track and analyze market trends to provide strategic insights to the business.
- Ensure compliance and uphold strong governance standards in all procurement activities.
- Drive cost-saving efforts and continuous improvement projects.
- Provide support for both local and international procurement projects.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Have between 3 to 5 or more years of experience in procurement, category management, or similar functions.
- Exhibit strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrate effective stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Bring proven expertise in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience working with ERP systems is required.
