About the Role
This position sits within the innovation incubation ecosystem at AJK Innovation Incubation Foundation in Coimbatore. The person in this role will connect the incubator with startups, students, faculty, and industry stakeholders, while helping drive outreach, partnerships, and program execution across the institution’s innovation initiatives.
Contract and Compensation
The engagement may be structured as a full-time role, fellowship, or contract. The initial assignment runs for 6 months and can be extended further. Compensation will be competitive and aligned with the candidate’s profile, with additional performance-based incentives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate student startup initiatives, idea challenges, hackathons, and innovation sprint activities.
- Support alliance building efforts, including follow-ups on MoUs and collaborative engagements.
- Handle the foundation’s digital presence, including social media communication and online community engagement.
- Keep accurate records of incubated startups, interns, and all ecosystem-related activities.
- Assist in drafting funding proposals and related documentation for StartupTN, MIC, and CSR opportunities.
- Work with faculty members and academic departments to identify promising innovation projects.
- Track grants, funding opportunities, and investment-related prospects.
- Help develop revenue streams that contribute to long-term sustainability.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, Engineering, Communication, or Innovation Studies.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Tamil.
- Exposure to or interest in startups, incubation, and ecosystem development.
- Working knowledge of Canva, Google Workspace, and social media management platforms is beneficial.
- Prior experience of 5 to 8 years in the startup ecosystem.
Preferred Traits
The ideal candidate should be energetic, well-organized, socially aware, and able to convert ideas into practical action plans.
Growth Path
Based on performance and outcomes, this role may progress into a Program Manager or Partnership Lead position within 12 to 18 months.
