Role Overview
As a Project Controller, you will provide essential financial and scheduling support for one or several projects, partnering closely with project managers. Your duties include managing project finances such as invoicing, cost controls, change orders, scheduling, and forecasting to ensure the projects' financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update various project control reports related to costs, planning, scheduling, change management, risks, project status, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with accounting and billing teams to correctly configure projects in Vantagepoint, ensuring accurate billing terms and work breakdown structures.
- Act as a liaison between project managers, senior leadership, accounting, and clients regarding cost controls and progress updates.
- Develop and implement standardized project control processes covering scope, documentation, budgets, and scheduling.
- Prepare, monitor, and assess reports on labor, expenses, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Oversee contract management including agreements, change orders, purchase orders, and client databases.
- Assist project managers with cost estimation for projects and proposals and facilitate project initiation and setup within business support systems.
- Coordinate with accounting and project managers to reconcile costs.
- Help produce monthly reports summarizing spending, variances, and forecasts.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 annually, adjusted based on education, professional certifications, experience, internal equity, and location. This is a full-time, permanent role with flexible scheduling and ample opportunities for professional advancement.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience in project coordination or controlling.
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Familiarity with project cost control and invoicing procedures.
- Experience with Siteview, Equis, Deltek, and Adobe software is advantageous.
- Background in the environmental services sector is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal communication and time management skills.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
- Located in Canada with flexible work options available.
