Job Overview
This position supports quality assurance activities for Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) components and assemblies within Alkhorayef Petroleum Company. The role involves inspections at multiple stages including incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products, while also managing the calibration of inspection and measurement tools to comply with both internal and industry quality standards.
Key Duties
- Conduct dimensional and visual checks of incoming raw materials and machined parts.
- Examine and confirm the validity of documents such as material test certificates, certificates of conformity, and inspection reports.
- Perform inspections during machining and assembly phases to ensure adherence to technical drawings and specifications.
- Measure critical parameters including impeller/diffuser clearances, stack lengths, rotor fits, keyways, and other areas with tight tolerances.
- Validate and document first article inspections according to control plans.
- Inspect sub-assemblies and final ESP pump assemblies supporting assembly and test operations.
- Check cleanliness, markings, and serialization of parts before final approval.
- Carry out final inspections to verify conformity with inspection and test plans.
- Identify defects and deviations, assist in root cause analysis, and support containment strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive inspection records ensuring traceability of all items assessed.
- Track calibration schedules for inspection, measurement, and test equipment.
- Coordinate calibration activities, ensuring certificates are current.
- Confirm measuring instruments are calibrated prior to use and stored properly afterwards.
- Assist internal and external audits by supplying inspection documentation and calibration records.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality challenges and promote ongoing improvements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Experience range: 0 to 2 years in quality inspection roles.
- Competent with inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and thread gauges.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and manufacturing tolerances.
- Basic understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001, API Q1, and oil & gas industry manufacturing protocols.
- Familiarity with calibration management systems and traceability principles.
- Fluent in professional English communication, both written and spoken.
- Good knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements and practical implementation.
- Proficient with computer operations relevant to quality assurance tasks.
- Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods is advantageous.
