  • Identify and communicate commercial risks, trends, and opportunities to the Contract Director promptly.
  • Maintain updated and accurate contract and change registers.
  • Prepare contractual notices, instructions, variations, and clarifications with accuracy and compliance.
  • Measure and value change items precisely in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to assess progress claims related to change items.
  • Monitor contract variations, provisional sums, delay costs, risk factors, and contingency usage.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on interim assessments included in monthly payment claims.
  • Develop effective working relationships with contractors, third parties, and internal teams.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a detail-conscious commercial professional who thrives in large-scale project environments and excels in applying measurement, valuation, and contract administration skills to deliver strong commercial outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven Quantity Surveyor experience on major infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong expertise in cost control and valuation of contract works, especially change items.
  • Proficiency with document management, financial, or project cost tracking software.
  • Membership or progress toward membership in professional bodies such as RICS or AIQS.
  • Exceptional numerical accuracy, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of contract interpretation and commercial management.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for measurement tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear verbal and written stakeholder engagement.
  • Proactive commercial awareness to identify contract risks.
