Sample Preparer - Kalgoorlie

We are inviting Expressions of Interest for multiple Sample Preparer positions at our Geochemistry site based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Candidates registering interest will be considered for forthcoming opportunities.

This position requires dedication to working in a dynamic environment servicing mining and exploration clients by preparing mineral samples using specialized machinery.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse machinery including crushers, splitters, and pulverisers to prepare rock, core, and drill chip samples for laboratory testing.
• Conduct physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Perform numerical sorting, sample labelling, and follow strict safety procedures including mandatory use of personal protective equipment like half-face respirators.
• Collaborate within a team to meet daily production objectives.

Work Conditions

This role is physically demanding, involves working in dusty environments requiring clean-shaven faces to ensure respirator seals, and exposure to noise and variable temperatures. The weekly schedule may vary across day and night shifts, including:

• Monday to Friday: Day shift (8:00 am - 4:00 pm)
• Monday to Friday: Night shift (6:00 pm - 4:00 am)
• Alternate 8 day shifts followed by 4 days off, with 10-hour shifts

Candidate Requirements

• Physically and mentally fit to perform repetitive manual labor.
• Reliable, responsible with excellent attendance history.
• Good communication skills, including number recognition and written/verbal instructions proficiency.
• Ability to strictly adhere to safety, quality, and conduct procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and personal integrity with respect for others.
• Adaptability to work in dusty, noisy, and temperature-variable environments involving hazardous materials.
• Must currently reside or be willing to relocate to the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region with valid Australian work authorization.
