Bridge Education is looking for a dependable and self-motivated School Cleaner to support the day-to-day operation of a well-kept school site in Blackburn. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within a school environment where standards around safety, security, and presentation are taken seriously.

The position is well suited to someone with a background in caretaking, site management, facilities, or maintenance who wants a stable role in an education setting.

Key duties

• Perform routine upkeep and minor repair tasks across the school premises
• Manage site access and security, including opening and closing responsibilities
• Complete regular checks related to health and safety
• Keep indoor and outdoor areas clean and tidy
• Work with contractors and outside service providers when needed
• Help ensure the school runs smoothly from day to day

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or a similar position
• Practical DIY and repair knowledge
• Understanding of health and safety expectations and rules
• Ability to work on your own and organise your workload effectively
• A dependable, proactive attitude
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Commitment to keeping the site safe and secure
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
