About the Role
MOBCO Group is looking for a seasoned Senior Contract Engineer to manage all contract-related and legal tasks for construction projects throughout Saudi Arabia. The chosen professional will handle contract administration, ensure adherence to contractual obligations, oversee claims, manage changes, assess risks, and resolve disputes, safeguarding the organization's contractual interests during the project lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer construction contracts from the initial award phase until project closure.
- Interpret and monitor contracts to verify compliance with terms, specifications, and project needs.
- Compose, analyze, and handle contract-related correspondence with stakeholders including clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Evaluate and manage Variation Orders, claims for Extension of Time, and other contractual claims.
- Identify risks in contracts and propose strategies to mitigate them, protecting company interests.
- Draft formal contractual notifications and responses per contract stipulations.
- Collaborate with project management, commercial, planning, procurement, engineering, and legal departments on contractual issues.
- Review tender documents, contract terms, and commercial conditions during the bidding processes.
- Track contract milestones, obligations, deliverables, and critical deadlines throughout projects.
- Support efforts to prevent and resolve disputes by maintaining accurate contract administration and documentation.
- Ensure detailed record keeping and document control for contractual files.
- Generate detailed contractual reports and provide senior management with timely updates.
- Comply with internal policies, client expectations, and applicable laws.
- Assist in negotiating contracts, claims, settlements, and modifications as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- At least 10 years’ experience in contract administration within the construction sector.
- Experience with large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mega construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract and global contract management standards.
- Preferably experience within the GCC region, particularly Saudi Arabia.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is advantageous.
