Role Summary

The position of Senior Mechanical Engineer is a full-time, onsite role located in Doha, Qatar. The engineer will lead mechanical design activities, scrutinize and authorize engineering drawings, and ensure adherence to local regulations and industry standards. Coordination with architects, structural engineers, and multidisciplinary teams is essential. This role entails preparing technical reports and calculations, mentoring junior engineers and designers, as well as supervising CAD modeling and design reviews. Additional duties include supporting research and development efforts for innovative solutions, managing project timelines and deliverables, and engaging with clients and authorities to resolve technical challenges during construction. The incumbent also plays a key part in enhancing internal design procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with applied expertise in building and infrastructure projects.
• Competent in Machine Design and the selection, sizing, and system integration of mechanical components within overall project frameworks.
• Proficient in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for producing, assessing, and coordinating detailed mechanical schematics and models.
• Experienced in Project Management including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Involved in Research and Development activities, adept at assessing new technologies, materials, and methodologies to enhance design solutions.
• Possesses a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Prior work experience in construction or consultancy sectors, ideally within Qatar or the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Qatar’s building codes, standards, and approval protocols.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and quality assurance skills.
• Excellent communication capabilities with the aptitude to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and clients.
